The 20th century Finnish architect Alvar Aalto predicted that the commercial building would become one of the most important building types in the making of the city of the future. This is indeed the case today when whole city centre districts are dominated by areas similar to that of the London “city”. The power of commerce and its driving passion to create wealth can enrich the cityscape immeasurably if we can capture that energy in built form and communicate this enthusiastic functionality spatially, both on the level of the inner workings and the relationship with the surroundings. Those surroundings can be the innermost confines of the city, the loose organisation of the industrial campus or the meadows of an ambitious little crossroads.
Our projects are driven by a passion for functionality whether it be on the level of spatial organisation, energy efficiency or high performance materials.
